Our Mission

Seven Cedars Live, LLC, doing business as Seven Cedars Live & Online Training, is committed to providing the highest quality live, online, and hybrid certified addiction counselor training available; delivered in the most convenient, cost-effective, and user-friendly manner anywhere in Colorado. 

Our online training offers the advantages of flexible scheduling, greater accessibility, cost effectiveness, and meets the requirements of the CAC Clinical Training Program at the Colorado Office of Behavioral Health.

Hybrid classes enable students to study didactic material online for week, then have two days of live practice in a classroom.

Live classes meet Colorado OBH requirements for more advanced and skills-based courses. All of our live classes are offered in Grand Junction and Colorado Springs CO.

Our instructors are OBH-approved leaders in the addiction treatment field with a strong commitment to workforce development and keeping the field fresh, energized, and viable.


Our Team


Alan Cook, LPC, LAC has been a clinical supervisor, teacher, counselor, trainer, EAP administrator, private practice owner, director of a substance abuse outpatient program, and program consultant. He was the board chair of  the Licensed Professional Counselors board at DORA for 10 years, and is the current chair of the Addiction Counselors Board. He trained in Motivational Interviewing with Dr. Bill Miller, developer of the protocol; and for several years has traveled the country training trainers and users in MI and MIA-STEP.


Linda Lute, LAC, MAC, has nearly three decades of experience working in the behavioral health field. Ms. Lute is currently the owner of Life Path, LLC, providing psychotherapy, training, and consulting.  She has worked in a variety of health care settings, including a private psychiatric hospital, non-profit crisis center, homeless shelter, group home, and community behavioral health center, serving all age ranges and economic backgrounds.  Since 1984 she has provided training on a wide variety of subjects, including required certified addiction counselor classes, integrated healthcare, and Crisis Intervention Team training for law enforcement.   When not industriously working, she can be found camping, hiking and rock hunting in the western half of the country, or just reading on the front porch.


Sandy McFall, MA, LAC, MAC, is the Owner/Director of Seven Cedars Live & Online Training, and a Colorado-approved Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) trainer since 1999. Sandy is a member of the Certified Counselor Training Committee with OBH, which determines requirements for Colorado certification and licensure, is a former member of the Addiction Educators group through the Mountain West Addiction Technology Transfer Center, and has been instrumental in bringing Colorado-approved Certified Addiction Counselor classes to the online learning community. She has offices in Grand Junction and Colorado Springs.  Sandy is an animal lover who bikes, hikes, skis, and snowshoes.


Will Walls, LPC, LAC, NCC has a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. He is a Licensed Addiction Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Will has spent the previous decade working with families, adolescents, and young adults as a counselor, a college professor, and a director of a local non-profit. He has extensive experience working with issues arising from substance abuse in individuals, families, and with children. Will has also spent years working with victims of abuse (domestic violence, various types of abuse of children and spouses). Will’s passion is to is to help people develop personally and to overcome obstacles so that they can achieve the healthiest lives and families possible.
